Tis the Season: Part II

It is so important to say thank you....
It seems like a little thing but it does mean a great deal. We say thank you every day in all kinds of ways, from letting a fellow driver pull out into traffic, or stopping to pick up trash off the floor, to holding a door open for a stranger, or sharing the fare on a cab. These little ways of saying thank you make us better people. They give off little messages that say you matter, that someone noticed. Volunteers do this every day with their selfless efforts to make our lives better.

Our library system is a wonderful place thanks to our volunteers. Every job they perform, every task they see through makes this place a happier place to be. It's not just the jobs that get done, but their great smiles, their stories of family and friends, their love of life and their joy in sharing it with others. Want to know more about our volunteer opportunities? Check out the following link!

Perhaps you would like to volunteer? There are so many ways you can start. You can check out your area communities for all sorts of opportunities from your local library to the food bank.

Volunteering doesn't always involve donations of time. Perhaps you would like to donate food, clothing or money. Not certain what charity to which you would like to donate? No problem. Check out Charity Navigator online here.

Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator, works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health of America's largest charities.

From all of us at the Beaufort County Library, we wish you and your volunteers a happy and safe holiday and we say thank you to all the volunteers everywhere who make our world a better place with all their glorious little thanks :)

Tis the Season ...To Thank Your Volunteers!

There is no time like the holiday season to be reminded of just how thankful we are for friends and family. Here at the Beaufort Branch Library that is especially true of our volunteers. Thanks to their tremendous help we have a few more circulations from previously damaged books, patrons can locate materials newly cataloged, shelved or donated, donated materials are now able to be displayed, programs are successful, events are hosted, and the list goes on.

Where would we be without volunteers? History shows us tremendous achievements made only through the selfless dedication of volunteers in all walks of life. Through organizations of volunteers like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and numerous other agencies and organizations communities have grown and thrived in the worst of circumstances and the best of opportunities.

So please, won't you take a moment and thank the volunteers in your community for their gift of service?

If you would like to become a volunteer contact our volunteer coordinator:
Rachel Kingcade at (843) 470-6524 for more information.

Start the new year off with help from the heart :)
Give some of your time to those in need.
